what does the fox say?

so lately it has come to my attention that foxes can speak. well not actually, but over the weekend my family came up and my sister asked me "lindsey, what does the fox say" and i was like whhhaaatt are you talking about. then she went ahead and showed me the video for the song : what does the fox say. this video or rather the lyrics to the video is insane. at first i hated it, like rebecca black's friday, but then
after the third or fourth time we both were laughing so hard that we couldnt stop.

this weekend i was lucky enough to have spent it with my parents in georgetown, check out our adventures here. but anywho, my dad, who also watched the video and became so obsessed with it that everytime he saw a fox picture or painting he would take a picture and send it to the family group chat.

this is just some of the pictures he sent to us.

*getting to the point*
so with this song i have noticed that foxes are in fashion and were in fashion as well last year! at first i wasnt sure if i liked it, but after looking through tons of fox prints i started to like them ... and might have put some things in my cart and absolutely can not wait to sport them this fall!

here are some of the finds that i have found that i have fallen in love with!
{especially the wrap bracelet and the wildfox couture shirt}

so what do you say,
pass or purchase?

nyfw recap

*warning this will be a long post*
this past weekend i went back to nyc for the mercades benz fashion week. i was so blessed and honored to go. i shared so many wonderful memories that could never be replaced! before i take you through my weekend, i want to say a huge thanks to alanna, jack & drew.
"Fashions fade, style is eternal."

(selfie on the train, pretending im on gossip girl #classic lindsey)
so it was around 5pm that i left the albany trains station to head into nyc. it was about a three hour long train, which wasn't so bad, seeing that i was asleep for about the whole entire ride. when i did arrive in new york, i made my way through the packed pen station and went upstairs on the streets of times sqare to find a cab. after getting in a cab with my 100lb (exaggeration) luggage i headed straight to my hotel; the marriott marquis in times square.
(walking out of the hotel this was what i ran into)

oh. my. gosh. this hotel was one of the most amazing hotels i have ever stayed in! it had about 50+ floors and of corse i was located on the 31st floor, but it was okay because there were about ten elevators (that were super awesome) that were bubbles that gave you a view of the hotel as you were traveling up and down. waking into my hotel room was like walking into paradise. i couldnt even describe it because it wouldnt even serve it justice. although it is very pricey, i highly reccomend it if you are ever wanted to go for a NYC splurge.
(hotel view {top} : day time {bottom} : night time)
after getting settled and taking a shower (my hair was not workin out) i caught a cab and went down to lincoln center to visit alanna. i got there just in time to go see a show, the same designer i saw at last years fashion week. venexiana by kati stern was an amazing show. last year i was so impressed with her collection that i had to come back and see it again. the colors that are in the spring 2014 collection; there were some fabulous pastels, a bunch of neutral colors among others. the textures of the dresses were intricate, there were a few furs, a lot of crystals, sequins and jewels. after the show we went backstage and met some of the models and saw how chaotic it was bask there! this show was amazing, i have no other words to describe the show!

(this was what it was like inside the tent)

(me with the models of the show)
post show, alanna and i were starving, so we headed down the street at around 10pm to go to our favorite, well my favorite resurant; rosa mexicana. oh my god you guys, you have to go there if you are ever by lincoln center. best guac ever! i literally could eat there for days!
(best . food . ever)

after getting food, we headed on over to my hotel with drew so i could get changed. when we were there we were invited to alanna, jack and drew's friend's apartment. so we left the hotel and headed over to his apartment. this was one of the most amazing places that i have ever been to! we went up to the rooftop and had the most amazing view of the city.

(bright lights in a big city : the freedom tower off to the right)

the great gatsby

“You see I usually find myself among strangers because I drift here and there trying to forget the sad things that happened to me.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

on may 10, 2013 the movie of the year will be coming out, the movie i have waited for since this
christmas (who are we kidding.... since the rumors began about it!!) will be arriving in theaters. if you think that on friday at 12 am i will be in my dorm sleeping, your wrong, i will be at the movies, popcorn and soda at hand ready to see this movie. i am way too excited for this movie to come out! the 1920's is my favorite time period and the great gatsby is one of my all time favorite books. there have been so many events taking place all around the world for this movie. so many companies have put together lines for this movie.

tiffany & co. just came out with a new line of jewlery inspired by the 1920's and the great gatsby, that is both breathtaking and expensive. if i was as rich as daisy buchanan, i would buy them in a heartbeat, not a yellow car beep (wankwank). VOUGE has also recently released a new issue dedicated to the style of the 1920's and to the great gatsby! i just picked up this magazine and i can not put it down!! NYT (new york times) has also just published an article talking about the hundreds of different great gatsby covers. you should really check them out here it is totally awesome and i have chosen my favorites!! enjoy looking over the pictures below. i know i will on repeat :)

The Eclecticist

Ever since we were 2 years old playing on the playground, GianPaula has been a person of style! She has always owned a unique and eclectic wardrobe. She was the one who introduced me to the wonders of thrift shopping, urban outfitters, and all the fashion blogs that I am now obsessed with. But what makes her style so admirable, is its sense of effortlessness. She wears what she likes, and doesn't seem to stress about what others may think. And that to me, is the definition of style!

I encourage you all to take this mantra with you as you are picking out tomorrow's outfit:

"Wear what you like, not what other think you should like."

Always,  Miss C

fashions night out : georgetown style

last week was the one and the only fashions night out. this day (september 6th) was one of the biggest nights in fashion all over the united states! so my friends kelli, katherine and sam went out for a night out on the town, georgetown that is! between the metro, the missed bus and walking getting there was exhausting itself, but we managed to get there (late or rather fashionably late)! the show was amazing and the sales were even better! it was a night that we will never forget! xx

 kelli:
kelli sported a fabulous coral sheer top with a nude tank underneath and some white jeans. she added on a stone gem necklace and a tory burch silver over the shoulder bag. so chic! xx

 katherine:
katherine rocked a sheer white tank with black hearts all over. she matched it with some jeans and a super cute belt. she accessorized herself with a fabulous K bangle, some chic kate spade bow earrings,  a over the shoulder clutch bag with some blue ombre nails and stylish steve madden violet pumps.
sam:
sam was spotted wearing a plain yet cute black half arm length tee shirt and some camel high waisted shorts. she topped this off with some fabulous leopard print shoes and a autumn red and gold ball necklace.
we ventured to pink berry (it was the brunette's first time there!!) and to georgetown cupcakes that night for our free cupcakes!
from left to right: the show and the celebrity watch, and further behind this is the tent for the vips (obvitotes me!) on the top is a dress in the window that was made out of fashion night out flyers. in the middle is samantha in a local boutique by the scarves and the headband section. one the bottom a window in american apparel, where there were some pretty awesome sales earlier in the night!

fall favorites : scarves

when the fall hits, there is nothing like some skinny jeans, compfy sweater, slippers on with a nice chic scarf hanging over your neck with your hair in a messy bun as you sit on the porch and sip your hot apple cider, true? yes true. When it comes to fall we love to substitute some jewelry such as necklaces and such and we add our own personal touch, such as a scarf to our necks to warm us up while staying chic!! here are some awesome scarves for september/october that we hope you will enjoy!! xx

The Dashing Diva

The Brunette has simply left us speechless. The other night, the brunette hit up the big apple and sure did make her mark. The brunette paired a blush dress with a fabulous navy blazer (we're just crazy about blazers). As flawless as her look was, the piece that made her simply DASHING was the jewels she paired with her outfit. Lindsey's exuberant necklace consisted of pearls, diamonds and gems and were quite exquisite.

the first look we have here is similar to what georgia would wear on a night out with the gals, or perhaps to run to the mall with some friends, or to wear to a summer carnival. georgia says: i will admit, on my lazy days i love yoga pants and a cute tee, but when it comes time for friday night its time to dress up. Pink is my favorite color, so in this outfit i love how we included some feather earrings and the pink glaze tote.

this look is very different than the first one, probably because this is what lindsey would wear on a spring or summer's night. lindsey says: mint green jeans are my new must haves. I feel like i can pair them with anything, heels, shirts & blouses, but what i love about this outfit is that its so chic and cute! The shoes are a must, love those to death. the opal ring (which i own) is perfect in every which way. the heart sunglasses have been on my wanted list for like ever.

oh my mary! this outfit is on the top and off the hook. this is out of mary's realm but is still a chic look that is fitting for her! mary says: oh my goodness i love this outfit, it is beyond belief. an upward trend this spring is the high low skirt, another one is the color yellow, so it was a must to add this to my outfit. I love the phone case as well, but i will admit that normally i am a kate spade girl, this marc jacobs case is amazing! the earrings and the necklace also complement each other and look stunning off and on, but preferably on!

alanna's look is different than all the looks put together. alanna has more of an edgy style that is also boho chic! alanna says: this outfit is perfect and is something that I would wear on the weekend hanging out or going shopping, maybe even a night out with the gals. printed jeans have been a huge fave of mine for awhile now, and i love to pair jeans with a cute cropped top, elongating my torso. another one of my favorite things is the diy studded phone case, i can't wait to make it for myself. as for shoes, i love to throw on my favorite jeffrey cambell lita's, they're fierce head-turners.

god karen why are you so fashionable? this outfit is soo cute and is surprisingly the only one that contains shorts. karen says: the top is really what sold the outfit to me. if i could i would totally wear this in a heartbeat, the shoes are awesome, even though im more of a nike sneaker girl, i like the bright yellow keds. i also love ripped shorts for the summer, it is so stylish and adds depth to my outfit.

kendra's outfit is definitely our fave. we love the cute boho chic look that is presented, and we also love the colors that is in the outfit. kendra says: the shirt is perfect, it is something that i would defenetly wear. i also love the bracelet and the phone case (it is a nock-off missoni) i  think the shoes are cute too
