lindsey's life update : november

so as you all could tell i have been mia (whuddashocker) since well november 4th. so instead of skipping over all the reasons why i have been not posting, im actually going to post them and do a huge post about what has happened and where i have been since, well novmber 4th
:: i have no clue where to start, so why not start with hmm my NYC trip :: sooo about the first weekend in november my butt was shipped (well i took a train) up to NYC for the weekend to visit the best : alanna. and we can not of corse forget : jack, drew, lilly & jaelen. i also got to catch up with my family which was awesome because i hadn't seen them in a while! i had such a blast shopping and hanging out with my new york city friends. when i left i like missed them so much i was about to turn around and just stay forever but i had something very special coming up... 

:: next on the menu is formal :: so as some of you may know, i am in a sorority at school and i am currently the social chair, meaning that i plan all the social events, dinners, parties, mixers and of corse our formal. this year our formal took place on november 9 at LiLlies resturant & bar. okay, im not gonna say this was the easiest thing to plan, because if i did, well i would probably be lying. but i can tell you it was for sure the funest one! the theme was the great gatsby and i got my final dress from macy's, it was an adrianna papell (mind you this isn't the EXACT dress)  and was on sale for like $79. dirt cheap, and when i was shopping with my friend erin for her dress, we apssed it and i was like this is the dress. so i tried it on and well the rest is history. i got my hair done that day at dry bar, and oh my god you guys, click this link to see how amazing it was. all i can say/ask is, when am i going back there!? soo to sum it all up, the party was amazing, it was such a huge success and so much fun, definitely a night that i will never forget! 

:: cheers to the adg initiation :: about a weekend or two later, my friends and i celebrated the initiation of the new brothers of alpha delta gamma. i was really torn in-between staying in bed and going out to this, but as you can tell i went. i came over to my friends, ali, lauren & stefana's room and braugh all the wrong things. i brought casual, but this was not casual apparently haha it was nice attire. soooo i invaded their closests and their hairspray and withing about 30 min (record time) i was finally ready 

:: cutting into the emergency room :: well about two weeks ago, lindsey thought it would be a swell idea to just pick up an exacto knife and just start a project. well yeah, the project was doing great, and it actually turned out amazing, but i didnt realize the blade was toward my finger and well ya know, i sorta kinda cut my finger open. thank god to my friend mk and marina for coming over and helping and for marina who drove me to the hospital and waited with me for what seemed to be hours. the outcome - a glued shut finger. 

:: call me, tweet me because sarahbelle93 did :: now i do not have a pic of this, but if you check out my twitter, or my favorite youtubers you will see that she favorited my tweet i @ed at her! and replied to me. i think i died and now well here i am.

homecoming '13

happy fall everyone!! i am so beyond excited that it is finally the fall season and that it is time to break out the leggins, boots, scarves and dark nail polish's! with fall comes a ton of stuff : apple picking,  pumpkin bread, scarves, tea, apple cider, boots and of corse football!  this past weekend was my school's homecoming (hoco) and it was such a fun event. there was a tailgate (which i never made it too because im always late) in the morning and following that there was well the hoco football game. now our team here is not world renown, oh no, but they are a pretty good team! it was so much fun to stand in the bleachers cheering and watching everyone around me support our school! here is a peek to what i wore and what happened that day! xx

dorm room diy : sorority glitter letters

so the countdown winds to an end, just two more days until this chick is dc bound! i can not say how excited i am for this semester and for sophmore year! i am even more excited to put together my dorm room and make it more homie! also could not be more excited to live with my new roommates.   so last year i pledged for a sorority and got it (yay me) so last year i purchased wooden letters and glittered them; so this year i thought i should do the same. this is honestly so simple to do, but it is a diy that i think should be shared!! hope you enjoy!! xx 

1. wooden letters in any color (mine are from michaels and they came white)  2. mod podge (mine is from michaels) 3. glitter (mine is from michaels) 4. a foam paint brush

first thing first, mod podge. you want to take your foam brush and dip it into the mod podge. you want to make sure you spread it all around for a nice and even coat. 

**tip : i didnt put glitter on the sides, if you want it then mod podge the whole thing, if not whipe it away with your finger so the glitter doesnt stick to the side*** 

  

next up whip out that glitter and sprinkle it all over the letter. 

**tip do it over your deck, or over a peice of paper so it doesnt get so messy**

after spreading it all over, go over all the parts that you missed and add more mod podge to the area.

then go ahead and spread the glitter with your fingers and then shake it off to make sure you get off all the excess glitter.

derby days with KTΓ

let me start off by apologizing to you all. last week was the most hectic week i have ever endured in well my life! i have some exciting news for you all!! *drum roll please* this past weekend i became a KTΓ sister, and i am both jovial and grateful. i am so in love with my sisters and therefor i am dedicating this post to you all!! On Sunday, we had our annual Alumni Tea and it was so much fun! we all got dolled up and put on our derby hats and were off to the races (but not actually lol) i wore a jcrew dress that i got years ago, but trust me it is still in style and fit like a glove! for my hat i purchased a sun hat from payless for $15 and my wedges were only $12 from payless, quite a steal!! it was a ton of fun, memories were made that i shall never forget. i look forward to entering a benevolent sisterhood of girls, making friendship with a noble tie that binds, each sisters heart and mine, what can i say other than thats a great big sisterhood of girls.
