college survival: departure

dear reader, it is finally hitting me. tomorrow is the day i have been dreading this whole week. it is move out day, probably going to be a sad day for many, but for me it is bittersweet. this year i have changed due to people, their actions, and independence. finally for the first time in my life, i wasn't hounded by a family member to study for a test, or to write a paper (and make sure it was flawless), i was on my own, well not really the first half of the year i had a roommate.  things have changed for me so dramatically, causing my emotions to be on edge. i have met so many people who have impacted my life in both positive and negative ways. no matter who you are, if i met you this year, you have impacted me and no matter the way you have impacted me i want to thank you, you each have made an impact on the person who i am currently. it is still a rush of emotions saying goodbye for the summer. i know this sounds insane, since i have known these people for only a year, but its more than just knowing them. i have lived among them, have grown and developed with them. it is going to be a day of smiles, laughters, tears and tissues tomorrow.  thank you again to everyone who has came into my life, it has been a blessing to have met you. i really mean it when i say that you have made me into who i am. thank you so much to catholic university, the faculty, the class of '16, ryan hall girls, KTG girls, and most importantly to my best friends.

today it is hard to find a friend you can trust. many people in the past have delt with trust issues, including myself. over the past few years i have learned a few things about girls.  1) they are catty  2) they can switch modes at any moment 3) their outfits reflect their personalities.  the friends i have acquired  through the years deserve that little boost, that reckognition that they do not hear or see everyday so here it goes. i mean every word from my glittery heart.
ny gals: MJ: four incredible years as you being my best friend. i know there was a reason i didnt like you. and that was because you were everyone's favorite, but at the same time i was too! you are not only my best friend, you are my soul sister. xx * AMK: uhlan, we wont finish that... where has the time gone since i sat next to you first day of freshman year in mrs. schnieders latin class (what hell). you are my fashion twin, but on the polar opposite side. my shakespearian sister, but better. my best friend. four more days until crazy car rides and mall trips on non stop mode. xx  * LL : MC : KC : KM : TR : thank you all for everything you have helped me through, you are always there for me and i miss you so much everyday! it is hard for me to realize that we all parted separate ways and now we are all grown up, doing shops, wearing lilly, going to parties and attending college. * HOCHO: to my sisters here, i wish i could go back for just one day and sit with all of you in the gym again. i know this seems obscene for me to say, but i miss it so much and all of you. hope you are all well and healthy. xx dc gals: SN: where should i even begin with you. if you did not come to this school, i think i wouldnt have done half of the things i did this semester. id probably be in my room 'studying' instead of going to our secret study space. three months of summer could not go by any faster until we are halfway across campus next year, but no matter what my door is always open! xx  * CW: my grumpy cat bestie, and my car birdie. what would life be like without your 21 year old self. hmmm well it would be cheaper. im gonna miss our outings and sora rants. next year, your apt is my apt. xx * BL : LB : one year with you. i remeber the first day of lc's. lau would not sit next to us, she was always with the boys, and brit and i sat next to each other. one semester later, one huge friendship later and a lot of laughs later, we end up at the end of part one of our book. you both are true gems, i have no idea what life is going to be like you after part four is over! i just hope we always remain best friends through thick&thin. xx  * TC : what would i do without chew. well i would be minus one roomie for next year! you are the best person and most genuine person i know, always ready for anything and always there for everyone! i love you so much girlie!! xx  * RYAN HALL GIRLS : KTG : "thanks for the great adventure, now go have one of your own" xx

COLLEGE SURVIVAL : what's on my desk

dear reader, have you ever been in the midst of studying and realized that you have so much sh*t all over your desk. well, i dont know about you, but i am one of those people who can not stand to be surrounded in a mess, that is why i am currently leaving my room and studying elsewhere hahaha! so you may ask, lindsey what is on your desk?

on my desk: my laptop : i always want to have a clear screen, i have needed folders on my desktop, but nothing too crazy! I also organize my computer in four desktops (apple usesrs have this setting, and boy oh boy do i take advantage of it!) this helps because i sort my schoolwork, my music, my social media and i leave an open desktop for anything i may need!! my notebook : i currently use my new may designs book as my to do list book, because i have ocd and can not do anything without my to do list, this helps me spread out my day, i put the to do's in order and lets not forget my favorite pink papermate pen my bracelets & watch : okay, i am one of those people who love bracelets sooo much, but i hate them when i am working. so to achieve the best of both worlds i take them off when i write! water : i can not study without this, it is truely my power drink. h2o for life! my agenda : this is my bible, basically my life! i need this to look at my homework schedule and plan out my days! without this, id be so lost! my fine point pens : my life. literally the best for an ocd person who is obsessed with color coding! i could never leave anywhere without them! tissues : for the past two weeks i have had the sniffles, and no its not allergies, it the last minute campus bug, its gone (THANKFULLY) for finals week; so ever got a sniffle grab a kleenex  notebook : my philosophy notebook has been with me for the past week because i have a final, yes a final, in it in like what two days!! must study. magazine : an easy read to take a break from both the virtual world and the homework world!

mothers day gift ideas

five more days until im reunited with my family, i am counting down the days until i can sit back and relax with my mom, dad and my sister. being away from school for so long has set me back on time with my family, which is a bummer! fortunately for them i will be home within a blink of an eye.

i get home friday, and have a family event on saturday, then on sunday is the all famous hallmark holiday known as mothers day! this year i have asked my mom what she wanted, instead of me using my creative mind and getting her what i like, which hasn't worked out... so this year i asked her, and she finally gave me a list (seen below). so many choices, why not get all?

the great gatsby

on may 10, 2013 the movie of the year will be coming out, the movie i have waited for since this

 christmas (who are we kidding.... since the rumors began about it!!) will be arriving in theaters. if you think that on friday at 12 am i will be in my dorm sleeping, your wrong, i will be at the movies, popcorn and soda at hand ready to see this movie. i am way too excited for this movie to come out! the 1920's is my favorite time period and the great gatsby is one of my all time favorite books. there have been so many events taking place all around the world for this movie. so many companies have put together lines for this movie. 

tiffany & co. just came out with a new line of jewlery inspired by the 1920's and the great gatsby, that is both breathtaking and expensive. if i was as rich as daisy buchanan, i would buy them in a heartbeat, not a yellow car beep (wankwank). VOUGE has also recently released a new issue dedicated to the style of the 1920's and to the great gatsby! i just picked up this magazine and i can not put it down!! NYT (new york times) has also just published an article talking about the hundreds of different great gatsby covers. you should really check them out here it is totally awesome and i have chosen my favorites!! enjoy looking over the pictures below. i know i will on repeat :)
