lindsey's life update : november

so as you all could tell i have been mia (whuddashocker) since well november 4th. so instead of skipping over all the reasons why i have been not posting, im actually going to post them and do a huge post about what has happened and where i have been since, well novmber 4th
:: i have no clue where to start, so why not start with hmm my NYC trip :: sooo about the first weekend in november my butt was shipped (well i took a train) up to NYC for the weekend to visit the best : alanna. and we can not of corse forget : jack, drew, lilly & jaelen. i also got to catch up with my family which was awesome because i hadn't seen them in a while! i had such a blast shopping and hanging out with my new york city friends. when i left i like missed them so much i was about to turn around and just stay forever but i had something very special coming up... 

:: next on the menu is formal :: so as some of you may know, i am in a sorority at school and i am currently the social chair, meaning that i plan all the social events, dinners, parties, mixers and of corse our formal. this year our formal took place on november 9 at LiLlies resturant & bar. okay, im not gonna say this was the easiest thing to plan, because if i did, well i would probably be lying. but i can tell you it was for sure the funest one! the theme was the great gatsby and i got my final dress from macy's, it was an adrianna papell (mind you this isn't the EXACT dress)  and was on sale for like $79. dirt cheap, and when i was shopping with my friend erin for her dress, we apssed it and i was like this is the dress. so i tried it on and well the rest is history. i got my hair done that day at dry bar, and oh my god you guys, click this link to see how amazing it was. all i can say/ask is, when am i going back there!? soo to sum it all up, the party was amazing, it was such a huge success and so much fun, definitely a night that i will never forget! 

:: cheers to the adg initiation :: about a weekend or two later, my friends and i celebrated the initiation of the new brothers of alpha delta gamma. i was really torn in-between staying in bed and going out to this, but as you can tell i went. i came over to my friends, ali, lauren & stefana's room and braugh all the wrong things. i brought casual, but this was not casual apparently haha it was nice attire. soooo i invaded their closests and their hairspray and withing about 30 min (record time) i was finally ready 

:: cutting into the emergency room :: well about two weeks ago, lindsey thought it would be a swell idea to just pick up an exacto knife and just start a project. well yeah, the project was doing great, and it actually turned out amazing, but i didnt realize the blade was toward my finger and well ya know, i sorta kinda cut my finger open. thank god to my friend mk and marina for coming over and helping and for marina who drove me to the hospital and waited with me for what seemed to be hours. the outcome - a glued shut finger.

four days of fabulous

long time no chat.

so last night and this morning it has been brought to my attention that blonde and brunette and myself in the bloging and youtube world have fallen off the face of the universe! i wanted to say how sorry i am for not keeping up with the posts! i have been out of my mind busy with recruitment for my sorority and with my workload. i have also been consumed with other things and have been at a low point for the past few weeks, but now i realized that i have people who love me and support me, so i am able to move onward and not turn back. anyways... currently, i am sitting in my classroom waiting for class to  * start and i thought why not post right now, i mean there is no better time, right?  that now would be the best time to post a quick catch up and apologize for my lack of posts!  i set up a schedule and even put it in my lilly planner so i will be posting on blonde and brunette every monday, wednesday and friday. with my youtube i will be putting up video's weekly! i do not want to set a schedule for that because it is harder to film than it is to post, well not really, but it is more time  * consuming! I will definitely have at lest one video up every week!!!  i can not wait for all the posts that are going to be coming up this fall! if you have any requests or ideas for posts/video's that you want me to do please let me know and i will be more than happy to post it! i hope you all have had a marvelous september and keep posted with me on blonde&brunette and youtube :)  *

lindsey's life update : past & upcoming

hello my fellow readers!! i apologize for my absence and my lack of posts from this week. as most of you know last week was my first week back at school ; syllabus week. this week has been so much fun but so hard. fun in the sense that i got to go out with my friends and see them all and have fun. hard in the sense that my personal life has been caving in on my emotions. it has been clear to me that i have been acting different this week and it is hard for me to handle the stress of my personal life with other events going on.    right now i can only move forward.   this upcoming week is a four day week. i get to spend most of it in classes i love, with people who care about me and with some alone time. i have a very busy week coming up though. many school events, projects, personal events and oh did i mention im going to new york fashion week in the meer matter of well five days! i am beyond excited to be going back to the big apple and to see my best friend alanna  and of corse my fordham bests ; jack , drew, lilly , taylor & a few others. it is going to be such a fun weekend but a tiring one. i am beyond prepared for it.  one thing that will really get me through this week, besides food are some of these helpful words. i hope you all have a good start to this week, and i can not wait to post again soon!

lindsey's life update : hell week

dear viewers,
warning, this week will be either a sloppy week for b&b or an amayzing (spelt wrong on purpose #seuss) week here on b&b. i have been uberly slacking on my youtube chanel and b&b, but i hope that everything will get back to normal soon! anywho (#seuss) i will get started with my update!!
okay sooooo lets begin with the past few weeks:  work work work work work. yep thats been my life for the past well, since summer even started! i really truely love work, but sometimes it is hard to balance everything out because my work schedual is so space out. i wake up every morning around 6:45am to get to the pool by 7:05, practice starts at 7:15 (really it starts at 7:30 but same thing... right?) i love my little swimmers, they are my joy and my pride! i am so proud of everything they do and have learned since the beginning! we have had three meets so far and have won all of them (3/3 its just the way we roll) but this upcoming week we have two more, which will be toughies, both for the team and for me because i have this one tiny tiny conflict this week. yep you said it kid (#seuss) rehearsal. 6-10. all day, everyday. 

our latest meet, we did bonzaii a cheer that we dress up for, gotta say we had spirit! lindsey : jayne : katherine : sean : jack as many of you know i am in a show this summer, seussical (hense all the #seuss references above, and below...). i have been working of this show for about a month now, and we are headed straight into  hell week, or in more polite terms, tech week. this week is going to be crazy, we have finally moved to our stage, but we need so much tuning up with our choreography as well as our music. im not gonna lie, im totally scared for the show! i am so excited, but so nervous!! if you are in the area this weekend please come see the show! it is ging to be amazing and we have worked so hard and long for this show!

pearls and curls

i have decided that this summer i am taking the persona of 

sounds quircky ehh? well i dont think so! it actually who i am & it sounds more regal when it is written my hair is naturally curly, but i love getting that perfect bounce of a curl. so here in this tutorial i will show you how i achieve my summer beach everyday curls! materials needed: 

O1: a hair dryer  (i got mine at target, yes i know, why cheetah lindsey... but it's the best hair dryer i have used!!) O2: a curling iron  (i use the conair infinity curling wand, it's my favorite hair tool & if i didnt have it idk what i would do) O3: a hair brush (mine is the wet brush, the best brush to use on wet hair, got this on amazon) O4: a hair tie (i just grab whatever is in the drawer) lets get curlin:

step one :  i tend to start off my day with a shower, makes me feel cleaner and gets all the bad oil out of my hair. after showering, shampooing and conditioning i let my hair sit out for about 10 minutes and then get to some of the heat tools. i blow dry my hair first, which tends to take about ten minutes to be completely dry. as you can see in the picture on the left, my hair is voluminous and straight. time to wand!

step two : i set my curling want to the highest heat and leave it for about a minute until it is fully heated. then i go ahead and curl my hair : i section my hair in two sections, then divide those two sections into two more sections, one on the left on on the right, then pick up various peices of hair and curl away. i keep the hair on the curler for about 30 seconds and get a beautiful curl.

lindsey bucket :  my apps : pintrest - *primp - snap chat - **sleep cycle - spottily - groupon - vine - ***shazam - picstitch  *primp is an app that i was introduced by alexanderaaxo on youtube, it is basically an online makeup app reviewer. you can scan just about anything and a review of the product will come up ** sleep cycle is an app that i have used in the past to track my sleeping habits, it is very useful and i love to see everday's results ***shazam is an app that is a music and lyrical finder. i was once in the store and a song was playing, so i whipped out shazam and pressed the button and it linked me to the song on iTunes!! its a must have

who am i

when i was in high school i never thought i would have my feet in a pair of sperry's or jack rodgers. well four years later, one pair of jack rodgers later and a bunch of sperry's later here i am. just recently i have had my preppy vein take over my whole system, slowly crawling towards my wardrobe.  after cleaning out my closet, i noticed that i have had a bunch of new button up shirts, colored shorts/pants that are all pressed and ready for the summer season! when defining preppy a person thinks of a bubbly, upbeat person who is involved in preppy sports (golf, tennis & etc), who is obsessed with shopping in preppy stores (vineyard vines, lilly pulitzer, southern prep & so on). i personally do not fufill that definition at all, but i do enjoy those stores, dont like the sports... so what does that make me?
truthfully here is what i am: an artsy girl on the inside, a preppy girl on the outside, a youtuber, a blogger, an artist, a shopaholic, a babysitter, a swim coach, a female, a student, a daughter, a sister and well im just lindsey.

The Dashing Diva

The Brunette has simply left us speechless. The other night, the brunette hit up the big apple and sure did make her mark. The brunette paired a blush dress with a fabulous navy blazer (we're just crazy about blazers). As flawless as her look was, the piece that made her simply DASHING was the jewels she paired with her outfit. Lindsey's exuberant necklace consisted of pearls, diamonds and gems and were quite exquisite.

the first look we have here is similar to what georgia would wear on a night out with the gals, or perhaps to run to the mall with some friends, or to wear to a summer carnival. georgia says: i will admit, on my lazy days i love yoga pants and a cute tee, but when it comes time for friday night its time to dress up. Pink is my favorite color, so in this outfit i love how we included some feather earrings and the pink glaze tote.

this look is very different than the first one, probably because this is what lindsey would wear on a spring or summer's night. lindsey says: mint green jeans are my new must haves. I feel like i can pair them with anything, heels, shirts & blouses, but what i love about this outfit is that its so chic and cute! The shoes are a must, love those to death. the opal ring (which i own) is perfect in every which way. the heart sunglasses have been on my wanted list for like ever.

oh my mary! this outfit is on the top and off the hook. this is out of mary's realm but is still a chic look that is fitting for her! mary says: oh my goodness i love this outfit, it is beyond belief. an upward trend this spring is the high low skirt, another one is the color yellow, so it was a must to add this to my outfit. I love the phone case as well, but i will admit that normally i am a kate spade girl, this marc jacobs case is amazing! the earrings and the necklace also complement each other and look stunning off and on, but preferably on!

alanna's look is different than all the looks put together. alanna has more of an edgy style that is also boho chic! alanna says: this outfit is perfect and is something that I would wear on the weekend hanging out or going shopping, maybe even a night out with the gals. printed jeans have been a huge fave of mine for awhile now, and i love to pair jeans with a cute cropped top, elongating my torso. another one of my favorite things is the diy studded phone case, i can't wait to make it for myself. as for shoes, i love to throw on my favorite jeffrey cambell lita's, they're fierce head-turners.

god karen why are you so fashionable? this outfit is soo cute and is surprisingly the only one that contains shorts. karen says: the top is really what sold the outfit to me. if i could i would totally wear this in a heartbeat, the shoes are awesome, even though im more of a nike sneaker girl, i like the bright yellow keds. i also love ripped shorts for the summer, it is so stylish and adds depth to my outfit.

kendra's outfit is definitely our fave. we love the cute boho chic look that is presented, and we also love the colors that is in the outfit. kendra says: the shirt is perfect, it is something that i would defenetly wear. i also love the bracelet and the phone case (it is a nock-off missoni) i  think the shoes are cute too

would you rather be blonde or brunette?

Where do we begin? hmm... well lets go back to August 2008, freshman year preseason at field hockey. We were starting a new school, one of us knew people (and had a twin sister) the other knew no one and was scared beyond belief. The brunette was the first to speak and of course she said, "Do you watch slat?" What is slat, well it was or is the Secret Life of the American Teenager (thank you Amy and Ricky for supplying my every monday with endless gossip). The blonde gave the brunette the strangest look, and replied with a yes. That day the seed of our friendship was planted into that hot sticky turf field. 

The two girls started to get to know each other and talked more often. Between that hot 'running' on the field to crazy games in the down pour rain the girls became closer and closer. Nothing can replace the memories that we shared on that team, in that school, on those computers, or even in the mall shopping extravaganza's. 

Today we still are close, still are friends and now we decided to bind our friendship on yet again another page in our never end story book. How? Well by blogging out our minds, by updating weekly fashion trends, by showing you that we truly are the best of both worlds.  Enjoy taking a peek into our worlds and our friendship.
